Bilibili unveils N.E.K.O., an AI companion that observes desktop content and starts conversations
Bilibili showcased Project N.E.K.O., a proactive multimodal AI companion, at WAIC 2026 in Shanghai on July 18 as part of its open-source Catgirl Plan AI digital-life ecosystem. The system can continuously observe a computer environment, interpret desktop content and initiate conversations, with a modular architecture that separates front-end interface, AgentAI system and memory layer while allowing users to keep core data locally.
