Who controls your information

Information we process

Why we process it

We process information to deliver and secure the website, respond to enquiries, maintain accurate public-interest reporting, establish or defend legal claims, meet legal obligations, and understand aggregate service performance. The applicable legal basis may be legitimate interests, consent, performance of a requested service, or legal obligation, depending on the activity and jurisdiction.

Infrastructure and recipients

Cloudflare provides website delivery, security, Workers, database, and object-storage infrastructure. GitHub supports source control and deployment. Additional AI or analytics processors will be listed here before they receive personal information. We do not sell personal information.

Cookies and analytics

The public site is intended to work without advertising trackers. Strictly necessary security or delivery technologies may operate without a marketing purpose. If non-essential analytics, advertising, or personalization cookies are introduced, we will update this policy and provide consent controls where required.

International transfers and retention

Infrastructure providers may process information in multiple countries. Appropriate transfer safeguards will be documented where required. Technical logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security and operations; correspondence, editorial evidence, and legal records may be retained longer where accuracy, public interest, or legal obligations require it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection; withdraw consent; or complain to a supervisory authority. Editorial and freedom-of-expression exceptions may apply to some reporting records. We will explain any refusal.

Security, children, and changes

We use proportionate technical and organizational safeguards, but no service can promise absolute security. Laplace Atlas is not directed to children and does not knowingly solicit their personal information. Material policy changes will be dated on this page.
