Alexa Plus gains AI update to control smart home devices with natural language
Amazon is launching an update to Alexa Plus that allows it to connect to smart home devices from multiple manufacturers including Bosch, Delta, Ecovacs, iRobot, Yale Home, Whirlpool, Tapo, and Eufy. The update enables Alexa Plus to automatically route requests to the correct device and interpret complex instructions. In an example, a user can tell Alexa Plus "my kid's soccer jersey could use a deep clean, but the tag says cold wash only," and the assistant will navigate a supported washing machine's cycle options and select the correct setting. The new integrations are powered by Amazon's new AI developer tool.
