Hyundai acquires SoftBank's remaining stake in Boston Dynamics for $325 million

Hyundai Motor Group has exercised a put option to acquire SoftBank's final 9.65% stake in Boston Dynamics for an estimated $325 million, giving the automaker full ownership of the robotics company. The transaction values Boston Dynamics at over $3 billion, nearly three times the $1 billion Hyundai paid for an 80% stake in 2021. Hyundai plans to deploy Atlas humanoid robots at its Georgia EV plant starting in 2028, with a target of 30,000 robots produced annually.
