NVIDIA deploys Vera CPU to accelerate EDA workflows for next-gen chip design
NVIDIA is deploying its Vera CPU across electronic design automation (EDA) workflows used to develop its next generation of CPUs and GPUs. The company is collaborating with Cadence and Synopsys to optimize critical EDA applications for the Vera CPU architecture. NVIDIA's initial testing includes several leading EDA applications, with early results on selected production-class workflows showing promising results. The testing highlights Vera's ability to accelerate two of the most compute-intensive stages of modern chip design. A Vera cluster is operating in NVIDIA's Portland data center.
