Timeline
Microsoft and Mistral have signed a multibillion-dollar agreement to build European data centers and integrate Mistral models into Microsoft's Foundry, Copilot Studio, and Azure Local. The pact will support Mistral data centers in Europe, helping the French company sell its AI models while enabling Microsoft to expand its cloud and AI services.
Microsoft is integrating AMD's Helios AI platform and next-generation EPYC datacenter processors into Azure to support AI and high-performance computing workloads. The expansion will power three new Azure offerings: HDv2 VMs for data processing, HXv2 VMs for electronic design automation, and ND MI455X v7 VMs for AI inference workloads. AMD plans to ship Helios later in 2026 to Microsoft, Meta, OpenAI, and others, with an estimated cost of $5 million or more per system.
