Amazon scales back Nova AI models and bets on new Frontier research team

Amazon is scaling back most of its in-house Nova AI models, including Nova Premier, Omni, Reel, and Canvas. The models remain online for existing customers in a "keep the lights on" mode but are no longer actively developed. Instead, Amazon is betting on a new Frontier Model Research group and a new foundation model set to debut at re:Invent this fall.
